For Families:
You want a great relationship with your kids? You want openness, honesty, caring and sharing in your family? You want to raise a child to be a strong, thoughtful, empathetic, positive, healthy adult out in the world some day? You can’t buy that. You have to invest in it. And the investment is the most expensive currency you own – your TIME – aimed at that most precious young person in your life.
Kids spell love TIME. Be intentional. Be consistent. Be caring. Be the parent. Every night. Every home. No one else can do that for you. Try this simple five-step process for the next six weeks and see if it doesn’t help family communication and spiritual growth.
Here’s what you do: Call “time for FAITH 5.” Everyone must drop what they’re doing, turn off the television, put down the newspaper or their homework, set the cell phone on silence and gather in a room of the convener’s choice. Then take turns going through the five simple steps outlined below.
For Couples, Singles, and Small Groups:
You don't need kids to do the FAITH 5! If you're flying solo, just get a journal or a notebook and follow the directions below. Groups of two or more may share verbally. All you need is about 5-15 minutes a day to grow spiritually, discern where God is at work in your life, and improve communication with one another.
The Faith 5 Steps:
1. SHARE OR WRITE the highs & lows of the day (What was the very best thing that happened today? What was the worst?)
2. READ and highlight a verse of Scripture in your Bible (Use the scripture verses provided on this page, or use another daily devotional aid)
3. TALK OR WRITE about how the verse relates to your highs & lows
4. PRAY for your highs & lows, for your family, for your friends, and for the world
5. BLESS one another or ask God to bless you
IT'S THAT SIMPLE!
